Position available at Bay of Fires Lodge Walk

Make the most of this exciting opportunity to join our vibrant and multi-award winning team as a casual Lodge Host, helping to run our amazing off the grid lodges at the Bay of Fires (North East Coast).

The right individual will have hospitality and guiding experience, and be passionate about creating connection with people and place. The role will be offered on a casual basis over the 2020-2021 summer season (through to end of April-early May 2021) with shift lengths approximately 3 – 8 days in length as per bookings and demand.

Given the remote location, the role will require a willingness to learn new skills and a problem solving attitude. You will be supported by the Lodge Manager, Lodge Host, and Regional Experience Manager.

The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in the eco-tourism industry – preferably in an operational or guest service role
  • A passion for preparing and cooking delicious food
  • 2+ years previous hospitality experience
  • Strong problem solving and organisational skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills
  • Minimum Provide First Aid certificate (or equivalent First Aid Level II)
  • Food Handling Level II (SITXFSA201)
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol

With desirable criteria including:

  • Have good bush walking experience and knowledge of the National Parks the walks are situated in
  • Commercial kitchen experience
  • Manual Drivers Licence
  • Ancillary Certificate to Drive a Public Passenger Vehicle (C Class minimum)
