Expression of Interest - Bay of Fires Lodge Walk

We are always on the lookout for experienced and talented guides.  Please submit an expression of interest and we will send you an application package

Guiding for the Bay of Fires Lodge Walk is a unique opportunity to work in one of the most pristine wilderness locations in Tasmania and to meet a variety of people from all around the world. Guiding is a challenging job, requiring high levels of responsibility and accountability.

You must be able to work in an open, co-operative team manner with your fellow guide(s) and guests in order to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction.

You will ideally have bush walking experience in Tasmania and Australia; a good knowledge of the National Park you intend to apply for; an ability to share your knowledge and provide interpretation about the area, the flora, fauna, history to individuals and groups of up to ten people; and hospitality experience, including cooking, food preparation, presentation and service.

A solid awareness of group management, safety and risk management is a major component of becoming a guide for the Tasmanian Walking Company.

All guides need to be available to participate in our pre-season training program, which includes an induction day held at our head office and a practical training multi-day program.  Your participation in ongoing training is also required throughout the season.  Our communication and training is taken very seriously and we encourage participation and contributions from all members of the guiding team.
