Splendours of Norway hiking adventure (10-days)

Day 1: Welcome to Oslo

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by a private transfer to the Lysebu Hotel, a cozy and prestigious historic homestead nestled in the forested hills above Oslo. Tonight, meet your guides and enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel's restaurant.

Accommodation: Lysebu Hotel, Oslo.

Oslo

Day 2: Guided tour and walks in Oslo

Approximately 2-3 hours of walking (5-10km)

After a leisurely breakfast, embark on a guided highlights tour of Oslo. Explore the city's attractions and immerse yourself in its vibrant atmosphere. Later, enjoy a guided walk in the nearby Norwegian woods, followed by a delightful traditional afternoon at a traditional forest hikers hut. Tonight, we are treated to dinner at the hotels award-winning restaurant, with views overlooking Oslo.

train to Lillehammer, Guided by Nature

Day 3: Head to Mountains of Norway

Approximately 1-2 hours of walking (7km)

After breakfast, we'll transfer to the central train station and board a train to Lillehammer, renowned for its winter skiing and picturesque mountains. Take a walk in the hills, visit the Lysgårdsbakkene ski jumps, and indulge in a typical Norwegian hosted dinner at the historic Nermo Hotel.

Transfers: 1 hour

Day 4: Discover Lom, Norwegian hiking, and Nordic gourmet food paradise

Approximately 3-4 hours of walking (13km)

Drive up the Gudbrands valley and venture into Rondane National Park. Take a walk to Rondvassbu, situated beneath the stunning Rondeslottet mountain, and relish a delightful lunch. Explore Vågå and make your way up to Brimi Fjellstugu, a mountain farming homestead, where you'll meet your host and enjoy a meal inspired by the flavours of the surrounding mountains. This is one of Norway’s most beautiful mountain areas, Jotunheimen.

Day 5: Walk to Steinbua

Approximately 2-3 hours walking (10km)

After a traditional Norwegian breakfast you will meet your walking guide who will share with you funny stories and tales from the local history and culture. Your destination is Steinbua, 400 metres higher above sea level than Fjellstuga. Once there, you will have fantastic views towards Tesse and Rondane with a lunch served by the fire.

When we get back, dinner will be served at Vianvang in Brimiland. At Vianvang, the focus is squarely Norwegian cuisine. The evening offers a variety of traditional flavours from Jotunheimen, along with discussions on food philosophy and an exploration of the culinary treasures of nature’s kitchen.

Day 6: Journey to the heart of the Norwegian fjords

Approximately 5-6 hours walking (10km walk up Galdhøpiggen)

Depart from Brimi for a scenic drive through Breheimen and Jostedalsheimen, known for their impressive mountains and fjords. Along the way, take a side trip to Spiterstulen for a challenging 6-hour walk up Galdhøpiggen, Norway’s highest peak at 2469 meters. The walk offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Later, continue on the mountain road over Sognefjellet, enjoying the scenery as you descend to Luster fjord. Board a ferry to Solvorn and proceed over Aurlandsfjellet with a stop at Stegastein, a notable viewpoint, before arriving in the peaceful village of Aurland.

Day 7: Discover local walks, waterfalls, and rivers of Aurland

Approximately 2-3 hours walking

Wake up surrounded by nature at the boutique hotel in Aurland. Join your guide for a walk in the World Heritage Park, visit a summer farm, enjoy a local lunch with a view, and meet the locals, both human and four-legged. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of this unique place that seamlessly merges tradition with modern design.

Day 8: Ride the Flåm Railway and Ferry to Bergen

Approximately 2-3 hours walking

Arrive in Flåm and embark on a memorable experience aboard the renowned Flåm Railway, a journey that takes you to Myrdal Station and showcases various breathtaking viewpoints along the route. Renowned for its steep ascent, covering nearly 900 meters from sea level in a brief hour, the railway ranks among Europe's top rail adventures, leaving a lasting impression on Norway's visitors.

Afterward, return to Flåm by walking along the historic naval road, and then continue your journey by boarding an express ferry bound for Bergen. As you sail for approximately 5 hours along the Sognefjord, Norway's longest fjord, relish the invigorating fresh air while en route to the vibrant city of Bergen.

Day 8 Norway

Day 9: Explore Bergen

Join a local guide after breakfast to explore the attractions and sights of Bergen. Surrounded by mountains, this city offers a unique blend of nature and urban life. Take in panoramic views from Mount Fløyen and Mount Ulriken and learn about Bergen's rich history. Enjoy a wonderful farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 10: Final day and departure transfer

Today marks the end of your unforgettable hiking adventure in Norway. After breakfast, we'll arrange a transfer to the airport, filled with cherished memories of Norway's natural wonders and scenic beauty.
