Walk review from Heather Harrison, Cradle Mountain / Overland Track

How can anyone trek 6 days and put on a kilo?

By eating the fantastic food cooked by our brilliant guides - Rob and Laura. This trip was truly memorable thanks to the organisation and expertise of everyone behind it. We saw Cradle Mt bathed in sunshine and brilliant blue sky and then the rain arrived on Day 3/4. We loved it as then we got to wear half our gear instead of carrying it on our back. We had to 'imagine' what Mt Ossa looked liked due to the cloud and rain, so on we walked. The rain was a blessing as the waterfalls were thundering when we got to see them, but watch out for leeches after the rain - they latch on to you in all sorts of interesting places! To see an echidna fossick for ants in the wilderness is 'silencing'. I can't wait to do this trip all over again. (And Tassie really does have the best cherries).
