Bay of Fires / East Coast    April 2008

Walk review from Sophie, Bay of Fires / East Coast Tasmania

The Bay of Fires walk would have to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

With every step I felt reinvigorated. The beautiful scenery, fine company and local guides (so local, in fact, that one of them was the lighthouse keeper’s son!) kept spirits high, with accommodation at the award-winning Bay of Fires Lodge a real highlight.

In such a pristine environment, the cares of everyday life disappear and it’s easy to imagine how this incredible place would have looked thousands of years ago: by my guess, not much would have changed at all.

It’s a true privilege to be able to walk in such wonder under exceptional guidance. Unforgettable, remarkable and exhilarating, this is a holiday not to be missed!
