Bruny Island    April 2021

Walk review from Merlyn Quaife, Bruny Island Tasmania

Having booked to do the Bruny Island Long Weekend in 2020 when Covid hit, it was wonderful to finally be able to get to Tasmania to do the trip.

It was fabulous - Damon and Toby were excellent guides and cooks! My fellow walkers were interesting people, making for great conversation. The food and wine was sensational, showcasing Tasmanian produce. Tents were very comfortable and a hot water bottle very welcome. The walks were sensational, ironically, due to inclement weather Day 3 was in the rainforest instead of to the highest spot on the island and perhaps the most beautiful experience of the three days due to the abundance of amazing fungi or maybe it was simply a perfect finish to the three days... I loved that there was no internet at the camp site. Nothing better than a storm while sleeping in a tent!
