I believe as a Tasmanian we should experience the beauty of our own state.
I loved the experience.
I am a 61 year old overweight retiree that keeps a basic fitness level up with some steep mountain walking occasionally. I recently took the opportunity to fit in a last minute walk while my partner was doing the great Victorian bike ride. I live locally and I saw a vacancy and a good weather window. I also had a room to myself so that confirmed my spontaneous decision. The walk was probably harder than expected but manageable. The huts made it possible because we carried significantly less in our packs. The luxury at the end of the day was divine. The pace was constant so the speed was more than I would normally pace myself. The loaning of some of the gear was a bonus and the food was great.
