We love walking with families. Our walks are nature-made adventures, perfect for engaging children. Our naturalist guides are keen to share their passion for nature through story-telling and in-the-field activities. Our walks provide a great way for families to share and overcome challenges, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Your journey begins in downtown Hobart, where you'll be whisked away from the city aboard our private vessel, Wild Thing, to the remote beauty of Bruny Island. Over the following days, you'll embark on walks to Cape Queen Elizabeth and discover hidden gems within Bruny Island's wilderness. Each evening, our knowledgeable guides transform into gracious hosts at our private forest camp, serving up chef-designed meals filled with local flavours. The unique blend of flora, chance encounters with native animals, and convivial long table dinners with both new and old friends make this long weekend truly exceptional.

Day 1: Great Bay

Approximately 5-6 hours walking

This morning, you'll rendezvous with your tour guides and fellow travelers on the waterfront of Hobart, Tasmania's capital. Step onto your private boat and kick off your adventure with a scenic cruise down the Derwent River to Bruny Island. Our aim for today is to trek out to a breathtaking cape on Bruny Island's eastern coast.

Upon our return from the hike, we'll immerse ourselves in the pristine waters of Great Bay to discover the art of farming the renowned Bruny Island oysters, and indulge in shucking them fresh from the ocean. It's the perfect way to unwind after our excursion!

Our next destination: camp. After refreshing with a hot shower, join us in the dining house for drinks and to swap tales of the day's escapades while the guides prepare a dinner sourced from the island or its surrounding waters. Back at camp, luxuriate in a rainwater shower followed by leisurely deck time with a glass of Tasmanian wine or a refreshing beverage for the kids while the guides work on dinner preparations.

Then, gather in our dining area for a scrumptious meal and to toast to the shared experiences of the day. On clear nights, be sure to gaze up at the magnificent stars above. Finally, retreat to our cozy private tents for a restful night's sleep.
