Cradle Mountain / Overland Track    January 2013

Walk review from Susan , Cradle Mountain / Overland Track Tasmania

Thanks so much to our guides, the legendary Lachy and Mitch, our wonderful group and to the wild Tasmanian landscape for a memorable walk.

As the first ‘adventure option’ we pushed harder and higher, but it was well worth the aching thighs! We climbed three mountains, including Mt Ossa on a mild, clear day where the view stretched from summit to horizon. Whether squelching through mud, stumbling over roots and boulders, or sipping hot chocolate on a flat slab of warm rock in the sunshine after an icy swim, it all added up to an awesome six days. Lachy and Mitch are knowledgeable, good-humoured, calm and great cooks! And the respect they have for the environment is an inspiration. I’ll never forget it. Thank you to all.
