Wineglass Bay Sail Walk - Maggie's Review

We had a GREAT 4 days on your Sail/Walk from 11/01 to 14/01/2017.

The crew were terrific - what a great team, friendly, helpful and competent. Our fellow intrepid sailors, Aussie and Swiss, were good company, The weather kept us on our toes - first day BLUSTERY - we walked on Maria Island - not the usual route as too windy but over hills, through mangroves and along beaches. Day 2 - SUNNY and CALM - Sailed to Schoutten Island, Crockets Bay and had our fair share of wildlife en route - one whale, many dolphins and loads of seals. Climbed the spikey hill behind for great photo-opportunities of empty white sandy beaches and turquoise sea. On descending to the beach, dinner was elegantly laid out and our crew armed with champagne, oysters and delicious BarBQ salmon fillets. That was an evening to remember. Day 3 WILD and SEVERE STORM WINDS - Long walk from Bryan's Beach, along Cooks Bay and then WHAM - storm winds along Hazards Beach, gusting up to 60 knots, driving sand, got blown over twice. But we made it. Our brilliant crew had anchored and then had the problem of getting us back on board. But they made it. That was a day to remember. Day 4 STORM GONE - SUNNY - by bus to WINEGLASS BAY and walked up for the view. A really great 4 days. Big thanks to our great crew:

Colin - our calm and competent skipper - also good on the BarBQ!

Ross - experienced long-range sailor.

Anna - our walking guide, fun, competant and great to be with.

Ange - great cook and formidable dinghy driver.
