Bay of Fires / East Coast    March 2018

Walk review from Sophie, Bay of Fires / East Coast Tasmania

I wanted to write on behalf of our group that has just completed the Bay of Fires yesterday.

We had such an AMAZING time, we can’t speak highly enough of our experience. Everything was perfect from the packing at Quamby through to the drop offs back in Launceston. And the weather - aren’t we lucky! Friends in the past have done this trip in March so we followed suit hoping to snag excellent weather, and we did!

Alina and Brendan at all times were extremely professional, knowledgable, friendly and fun, helpful, engaging, concerned for our safety and ensured we were always comfortable...and not to forget their amazing service of all meals, snacks and drinks at night - loved the wines, esp at the safari tents. Their cooking skills we couldn’t fault....extremely capable they both are. As guides they never interfered with our chat or imposed themselves on us, yet were included in the banter. We had many laughs with them! As a group we can’t sing their praises enough. That goes with the guides we briefly met at the Lodge. Everyone worked as a team.

As a group of 10 mums always busy with kids and working we didn’t expect the level of service we would receive throughout the whole trip. We felt as they we never lifted a finger! Something we are not used to doing, but this certainly increased the relaxation side of the trip.

The walking speaks for itself - spectacular. We had swims every day, loved that! White beaches, sparkling water, river crossings, kayaking down the river, we loved it all.

The accommodation - great. So comfortable. Zane and Daisy run the Lodge perfectly. We all loved the set up. The girls who did the massages/facials/baths, loved it...the rest of us enjoyed just being on the balcony or walking and swimming. Kayaking - a ripper day. Jo is great, very helpful getting us sorted at the beginning and end. A great way to break up the walking too. Again, good weather certainly increased our fun of the day and allowed for the bay crossing.

To end, the hand written note is a lovely way to end the trip. We have no idea when Alina and Brendan had time to write on the cards as they never stopped working!

I am sure I could share more about everything we loved about the trip, but I guess you can tell we are all very happy walkers. The trip is a well run machine and our group certainly appreciated the details and thought put into it. The 4 days exceeded our expectations and we have come home back to our families very happy and content.

Thank you so much, especially to Alina and Brendan.
