Bruny Island    December 2018

Walk review from Fan, Bruny Island Tasmania

I booked this 3 day hiking trip on Bruny as part of our family holiday to Australia.

I couldn’t be more delighted with my choice.

We are a family of 4 (2 young boys) and Rob assured me that as long as my boys were happy to walk & enjoy the island then we would have a fabulous time - he was 100% right!

From the exhilaration of the private boat trip over to Bruny Island followed by the various hikes exposing us to the most stunning beaches, views, wildlife & plant life. A highlight of course is the comfortable and welcome camp with amazing food, wine and bizarrely the best shower ever! Accommodation is basic (it is camping so nothing else could be expected) but extremely comfortable! The toilet is amazing for a long drop - no yukky smells!

The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and on top of that prepared all the meals and carried the bags! A perfect way to enjoy a beautiful island properly.

The food served was gorgeous - local wines and produce were on the menu and prepared extremely well by the guides. I personally loved the fact they served my children the same food (and my boys both enjoyed the food very much) but be prepared if you have ‘fussy’ eaters - there’s no kids menu.

Can not recommend this trip enough for getting away from it all - for us as a family it was a perfect way to ‘off grid’ and truly enjoy the beauty of nature and the pleasures of uninterrupted family time.
