  • Bruny Island Long Weekend + Fat Pig Farm

Picture this: a Bruny Island getaway that marries gourmet delights with the beauty of nature.  Enter our Bruny Island Long Weekend + Fat Pig Farm walk...

This Limited-Edition walk offers adventure, sustainability, and exquisite dining in one, creating a unique experience for food lovers, nature enthusiasts, and adventurers alike.

Pigs Dining

A Feast for the Senses: The Fat Pig Farm Discovery

Before we head to the wonders of Bruny Island, we're treated to a day in the picturesque Huon Valley, where the celebrated Fat Pig Farm is an enclave for the culinary enthusiast. Here, you are treated to a private farm feast with matched drinks facilitated by the renowned hosts, Matthew Evans and Sadie Chrestman. The day is enriched with an engaging tour of the farm, offering a firsthand look at their dedication to regenerative farming practices. By emphasizing the regeneration of their land, Matthew and Sadie ensure that each carefully crafted bite not only delights the palate but also embodies their commitment to sustainable agriculture.

The Fat Pig Farm restaurant is currently closed to the public, but our exclusive collaboration provides a unique chance for you to indulge in the farm's delights within the intimate setting of a small group experience.

A Bounty in the Backdrop: The Bruny Island Long Weekend

Day Two begins with a private boat ride from Hobart, leading you to the serene sprawl of Bruny Island's expansive beauty. Expect to be mesmerized by trails that weave through breathtaking vistas, showcasing interplay between the turquise waters and rich diversity of ecosystems on the island.

In the midst of Bruny Island's beauty lies our private eco camp, nestled in serene bushland in the South—a truly peaceful retreat. Completely off-grid and surrounded by native trees, it's protected by the island's highest peak, Mount Mangana. Relax in our cozy communal area, soak in the stunning views, and unwind by the indoor or outdoor fire. Indulge in hot showers and savour the flavours of delicious meals prepared by our guides. Almost 100% of the food served is sourced from the island; you can expect oysters sourced and shucked directly from the bay, Bruny Island Mushrooms, an array of cheese from Bruny Island Cheese Co. and so much more.

In your tent, outfitted with a King (or twin share) bed and a comforting hot water bottle, you'll be snug as you listen to the melodic calls of birds or the gentle thump of a Pademelon hopping past. If you're lucky you might even hear the call of the threatened endemic bird species, Forty Spotted Pardalote. Tune your ears into its call here.

An Expedition of the Epicurean

More than an experience, the Bruny Island Long Weekend + Fat Pig Farm offering is an expedition of the epicurean—one where adventure, exclusivity, and quintessential Tasmanian produce collide.  The union of Fat Pig Farm's philosophy of farm living and the Tasmanian Walking Company's commitment to world class walking experiences that offers an escape unlike any other.
